Our Impact

Alabama nursing homes have a profound impact on the lives of the residents they serve.

At some point, many families will have a loved one who requires around-the-clock skilled nursing care. Our facilities are designed and equipped to care for these individuals who are no longer able to care for themselves. We have a diverse staff of health care professionals in each home, including a physician who serves as medical director, registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs).

Nursing facilities also offer physical, occupational and speech therapy. These services are designed to rehabilitate residents whenever possible, with the goal of returning them to independent living or life with their families. Not all residents of a facility are elderly. Other people receiving long-term care in today’s nursing facilities include: children and adults with physical or mental challenges and children and adults with debilitating diseases or conditions, etc.

A Deadly Combination

COVID-19 in Nursing Homes

There is no question nursing home residents are the most vulnerable to COVID-19. In addition, the staff, nurses and doctors who care for them have also contracted this sometimes deadly virus. Without the proper access to personal protective equipment (PPE) and testing kits, the risk to the people we serve only intensifies.

We must demand that nursing homes are given their adequate share of these items. Lives depend upon it. #ProtectTheVulnerable
